The official Alan Parsons Project channel
The APP were a progressive rock music entity comprised of engineer/ producer Alan Parsons and songwriter, musician and manager Eric Woolfson. They released 10 concept albums between 1976 - 1987 and have sold over 55 million albums world-wide.
Their focus was on very high quality studio sound production and they recorded most of their work at Abbey Road Studios in London. They used a variety of different lead vocalists and musicians on every album - choosing who they felt was the best for each song rather than being constrained to moulding the material for one specific artist.
They have been name-checked in The Simpsons and Austin Powers film and their music is used regularly in adverts, films, sporting events and is often sampled by US rap artists.

Alan Parsons Unboxing Pyramid (Work In Progress - Record Store Day Exclusive)
For Record Store Day 2024, The Alan Parsons Project will release a ‘Work In Progress’ version of the ‘Pyramid’ album.
This exclusive release features early demos, rough mixes, and Eric Woolfson’s Songwriting Diary versions of the 9 tracks that appear on the Pyramid album. Six of these tracks are previously unreleased and all of them are making their first appearance on vinyl.
Packaged in a poly-lined inner sleeve with a 12” x 12” insert, this 180g orange vinyl LP is strictly limited to 4200 copies worldwide and will be available from your local record shop from Saturday 20th April.

I dig the interviewer's laidback improvised interactions with Eric's daughter here. I understand English isn't his native tongue but maybe a little more coordination would've been more informative. It seemed like the guy was going on a bit randomly.

The album that gave me love for music, at first hear. Mad about music and this album in particular since.
I got to see him in concert with my dad in 2022. I grew up with The Project, and this album was one of the first CDs my dad ever got me. I stole his Stereotomy CD and Turn of a Friendly Card. I'm wanting them on vinyl if I can find them. ❤

Favourite fact about the album? The Raven was one of the first songs to be recorded with a vocal synth. I think.
I saw that in an interview! But what I think you mean is that it is the first digital vocoder used.
